Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Howdy y’all 😀
As always thanks for y’alls emails!! I always love hearing things from all of y’all. It seriously makes me so happy to hear from you!
This week was……..crazy to say the least. Here’s a brief run down of what I can recall:
1) The English missionaries moved out of our dorm and my comp Elder Kohler and I are finally back to getting a full 8 hours of rest every night!
2) On the same night when the English missionaries were leaving at a bright and early 4 AM, a missionary left popcorn in the microwave at midnight and we all had to evacuate the building! My comp and I almost overslept the fire alarm because we were so exhausted!
3) One of the missionaries in our district dislocated his foot! It was really scary because the whole week we thought he would have to go home and we absolutely love him. He and I were fasting our dinner because he had a medical check-up the next day…. and we ran into the head of medical staff at the MTC! He confirmed that he could still serve a mission in Japan if he wanted to. Well, it happened to be that one day my companion and I were praying about what we can do for our district. We saw that the elder had gotten a boot on and heard that the medical check-ups confirmed that, not only will he be able to serve a mission in Japan, he won’t have to be delayed at all! I genuinely think it was such a miracle. Keep in mind that our zone president said he would be sent home lol
4) I am officially one month into being a missionary! (kinda lol). Still at the MTC for another month! I’m having a blast at the MTC but my comp hates it XD. The gym here is awesome tho, I love the weight machines. As always I can max out the leg machines. My comp recommended that I start doing single leg machine workouts lololol
5) Christmas lights (it’s not even Halloween yet?)! (see photos).
6) We had our first Japanese HOA (we teach lessons in Japanese!) It was so awesome. The person we were doing it with was so kind and patient with us. I really felt so peaceful doing it, and I felt so excited afterwards. I want to master this language quickly!!! Japanese is so cool and the people there I hear are amazing. I love learning kanji and grammar too! It’s funny, I definitely know way more kanji (like the Chinese characters) than I know katakana (one of the base alphabets)….. lowkey bad but I also don’t know how to study it while at the MTC. I also met a few Japanese sister missionaries and they were awesome. We talked about One Piece (my vocab is limited to God and anime unironically rn) and I found out that the Sister’s favorite character was Law (W take). I said mine was Zoro of course. She also watched way more anime than me which is crazy. She has all of the manga for One Piece which made me insanely jealous cause those are expensive.
Short scripture from the Book of Mormon today: (Mosiah 2:17).
“17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
I’ve always loved King Benjamin’s address. How can you not love Mosiah 1-6? It is full of universal truths.
Short excerpt from my journal this week:
I don’t have a perfect knowledge nor a perfect faith, but if the blessings of Jesus Christ are true, then it is worth every cell of my body, every struggle, every pain, because it will give me an eternity of joy, delight, and happiness. Let me press forward with faith, having God with me! I will continue until all is done and all is known, and learn line upon line and precept upon precept. My potential is infinite in Christ. I have seen immaculate growth in people through their missions and through Christ, and I expect the same for myself.
Okay so the sisters in my district got mad (maybe reasonably so) that I was sharing the district google photos in these emails…. so below I’ve linked my own google photos! I’m uploading all the photos they look terrible in for sure. Jk they always look great! 😉

PS, Hymn 249 (Called to Serve) sounds like you’re at the ballpark. Especially when it’s played on an organ.
