SUP DAWGS

Finally got into Japan this week. We did some streeting first day which was super fun in Kobe. I love big cities. It was pouring all day so we had to do it in the rain which low-key was goated, hot take. I went with Elder Zimmerman who was kind of like my temporary trainer for the day. We got a contact for our English class, 英会話, which was cool I guess lol. A lot of Japan streeting/housing is just planting seeds afaik. We also went hiking up a pretty mountain the next day and finally got to our districts!
I’m in Otsu! It’s so pretty (ФωФ) My new trainer is awesome and we’re pretty tight already. We did some housing the first day as not many people go out in the rain here and some streeting the day after. It’s hard but so fun! We have yet to find any contacts, but I have hope( ´△`). People here are ready, but I gotta figure out how to get past the “I’m interested in Christianity, but I’m Japanese. So don’t talk to me again(ーー;)” typa energy. (ダメ/結構 has quickly become my least favorite word iykyk) We also gave two lessons and I loved teaching people about the gospel. (It’s the best to teach people about the gospel. I’m not sure why people are so scared of teaching it. Genuinely the best part of missionary work). One of our friends was from Brazil and was low-key so locked and ready to hear the gospel. The other was a Japanese lady and she low-key might have ADHD or something because every two seconds she’d change the topic from tithing to the holy spirit to baptism to Joseph Smith and his multiple wives💀 It was in Japanese so it was super fun to bear my testimony about why I love the church and the Book of Mormon and then try to piece together the rest of the 50% of the conversation I understood( ´;゚;∀;゚;). Church here is awesome. For some reason Sano会長 (our mission president) pulled up on Sunday so that was sick to hear his and Sister Sano’s testimony. The members are so faithful and they really want me to play violin here! I’ll have to figure out if I can rent or something I suppose. I really do love this Church so much.

Anyways, love y’all. Gonna go buy a bike today and hopefully a few other things and then me n my douryo are chillin for today basically. Life is good. Take care yall B)

  1. Love it Elder E! Just have to use my Gen Z dictionary to understand some of the cool words you use. LOL. xox – mom

  2. You’re amazing. Reading these gives me the strength to due to unremarkable and mundane, but strive towards the unthinkable (simply making it through college 😭). I’ve accepted the fact that you have surpassed my understanding of Japanese 1000 fold but I’ve needed a push for a while. I expect to go on a run together the moment you’re back.

    1. You got this Fritz! And we are all pretty blown away by Eli at this point! Thanks for being a great friend 🙂
